Museum is the mint at 320 Sussex
Drive. No longer producing day-to-day coinage, it strikes special-edition
coins, commemorative pieces, bullion investment coins and the like. Founded in
1908 and renovated in the mid-1980s, this imposing stone building has always
been Canada’s major refiner of gold. Tours
are given by appointment; call to arrange one and see the process- from sheets
of metal to bags of coins. It’s open day to Friday. Admission is $2, family $8.
