Visit Eastern Ontario travel place
West from Ottawa there are various routes through Ontario. How 17, the trans Canada Hwy, leds north-west to Pembroke, then continues to north Bay and on to Sudbury. This is the quickest way to western Canada. From Pembroke there is another option. Hwy 60/62 leads west through the southern portion of Algonquin park to Huntsville, where Hwy 11 runs north to north bay and south to Toronto.
The southern route from Ottawa goes to the more populated
southern region of Ontario Canada,
the st Lawrence river, the great lakes and Toronto. From Ottawa, hwys 31 and 16
lead directly down to the 401, the expressway to Toronto.
A prettier, through slower drive is to take Hwy 7 west out
of Ottawa going through perth and as far as Hwy 37. From here Hwy 37 leads
south through tweed before droping down to Hwy 401. Taking Hwy 7 any farther
west really starts to add on the hours. Ottawa to Toronto on the Hwys 7 and 37 routes
takes about five hours. However, enjoy the ontario facts and visit ontario place.
