Across the river in Quebec, hull is as much the other half of Ottawa as it is a spate city. It warrants a visit for more than the Canadian museum of civilization. The Hull Canada has its share of government offices, and workers cross the river in both directions each day, but the hull side remains home to most of the area’s French population. Promenade du portage or Alexandra Bridge, is the main downtown street. This agriculture Canada government experimental farm (613-991-3044) at 930 carling Ave is about 500 hectares of flowers, trees, shrubs and gardens. The site is used for research on all aspects of farming and horticulture. There are tours, or you can go walking on your own. 

The farm museum also has livestock and showcase herds of cattle, an observatory, a tropical greenhouse and arboretum.
