This agriculture Canada government experimental farm (613-991-3044) at 930 carling Ave is about 500 hectares of flowers, trees, shrubs and gardens. The site is used for research on all aspects of farming and horticulture. There are tours, or you can go walking on your own. 

The farm museum also has livestock and showcase herds of cattle, an observatory, a tropical greenhouse and arboretum.

It is housed in the attractive old Victorian building at 240 McLeod St on the corner of Metcalfe St, south of the downtown area. The four-storey building fostering an appreciating and understanding of nature includes a good section on the dinosaurs once found in Alberta.

Also excellent are the realistic mammal and bird dioramas depicting Canadian wildlife. Major temporary exhibitions on specific mammal, mineral or ecological subjects are a feature.
