One of the most beautiful places of Mexico is Merida. Yucatán Peninsula’s largest city is Merida and it is also the capital of the Mexican State of Yucatán. Merida yucatan is located in the northwest part of the state. It is the largest of the four cities of the world that share the name Mérida, the other three being in Spain, Venezuela and The Philippines.
Mérida
was founded in 1542 by Francisco de Montejo “el Mozo” (the son) and It was
built on the site of the Maya city of T’ho, meaning “city of five hills.” It has
a great history like a fairytale.
